Government to change policy on sales representatives who prey on new mothers

The move comes after this newspaper exposed how  sales representatives were approaching mothers in their hospital beds, and going on to pass their details onto third parties.   The Sunday Telegraph understands that ministers at the Department of Health and Social Care are examining plans to tighten the current guidance on the presence of commercial staff in hospitals. Sales representatives who approach new mothers on hospital wards are facing a Government crackdown,  amid concerns mothers are being preyed on by firms within hours of giving birth.
