Sahara issue: UNCHR-led family visit exchange program resumed

first_imgLaayoune – The family visit exchange program between the camps of Tindouf, and the southern provinces of the Kingdom, led by the High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), was resumed on Wednesday. According to a statement from the office of the Moroccan Coordination office with MINURSO, the flight which took place on ??Wednesday from and to the cities of Dakhla and Aousserd benefited 191 persons from 42 families. 48 people from the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd, from 12 families, have left the Dakhla airport for Tindouf, the statement said, adding that 143 people from 30 families arrived on the same plane from the Tindouf camps. Since its launch in March 2004, the family visits exchange program has benefited a total of 19,793 people, including 10,637 from the Tindouf camps, and 9,156 people from the southern provinces.last_img
