Hurdlers Lead Drake Track & Field At Missouri’s Tom Botts Invitational

Dominic Lombardi, 15.64 Field events saw Taryn Rolle (Nassau, The Bahamas) build off last weekend’s school record in the triple jump by taking third in the event with a jump of 39-9.75. She was in third throughout the competition but tacked on more than a foot in her last jump to mark her second-straight week of jump at least 12 meters. Rachel Selva, 4:54.31 Three Bulldogs finished in the top five of the men’s 400-meter hurdles with Hudson Priebe (Chamberlain, S.D.) winning in 51.92, just shy of his personal best in the event. Malik Metivier (Toronto, Ontario) did notch a personal best in the race, finishing third in 52.08 followed by Dominic Lombardi (Columbus, Ohio) in fourth. Lombardi also finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. On the track, the men’s team also had another strong day in the sprints with three Bulldogs battling windy conditions to finish in the top 10 of the 100 meters. Kundai Maguranyanga (Glen Zorah, Zimbabwe) finishing fourth in 10.80 followed by Aaron Chier (Belgium, Wis.) and Caulin Graves (Overland Park, Kan.). Xavier Lechleitner (Edgar, Wis.) nearly clocked a personal best in the 800 meters in 1:53.62 to finish third.
