Just a caution flag on lap number five delayed the Whittemore driver trip into the winner’s circle. By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (May 21) – It was opening night at Kossuth County Speedway May 21 without any spectators in the grandstands but that did not deter a grand total of 103 cars from dotting the pits at Algona.  Both Troy Swearington and Smith kept pressure on Larson but he went onto the win with Smith second and Swearington third. Thirty-one IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars vied for spots in their main event grid. Devin Smith grabbed the early but Jeffrey Larson pulled even at midway and took the lead on the following lap.  Austin Wolf and Jeremy Mills both challenged Knecht but he refused to give up the lead. While fans were not allowed, each driver could have a maximum of 10 people in their pit area with social distancing procedures in place.last_img read more
